Charlene, a native New Yorker from Long Island, discovered the importance of poise, grace, and dining etiquette early in life, thanks to a "charm" class she took in high school. These skills helped her win a Ms. Scholarship competition in the 10th grade and laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for personal development and human connection.
An accomplished educator and proud U.S. military veteran, Charlene brings a wealth of experience and professionalism to the etiquette coaching industry. She holds a master’s degree from Central Michigan University, a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University, and an associate’s degree from Prince Georges Community College. Additionally, she holds an advanced certificate in human resource management from Villanova University. In 2023, Charlene was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award from her high school alma mater. After retiring as an Army human resource officer, Charlene transitioned to education, serving as a chief instructor for Junior ROTC at DC Public Schools. There, she taught high school students essential life skills, including dining etiquette, college preparation, and job interview techniques. She is also an active member of the Southern Maryland chapters of Top Ladies of Distinction and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. Beyond her work in etiquette coaching, Charlene continues to serve her community as a real estate agent and contributes on a national level as an intermittent program delivery manager with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Her true passion lies in empowering young people to understand the value of etiquette, emphasizing that it’s not about perfection but about putting others at ease while fostering respect, consideration and confidence in everyday interaction. |
